About Emgwen Constituency

Emgwen constituency is in Nandi County that is part of the larger North Rift. The constituency is part of six sub-counties that form Nandi County and was established in 2012 by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC). It borders Mosop constituency to the Northwest / North and Nandi Hills to the West, Tinderet constituency to the South and Aldai to the east. It covers a total area of 15,444.80km .
Emgwen Constituency population stood at 407,050 in the year 2014. It is projected to have a total population of 530,301 in 2018. These projections are based on a population growth rate of 7.4 percent assuming constant mortality and fertility rates. The increase in the overall population will call for more investment in economic and social facilities.
